Ten convicted of cyber-bullying directed at Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has ruled against ten people for carrying out the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The those on trial faced accusations of disseminating untruths regarding her sex and sexual orientation, in addition to posting malicious remarks about the couple's age disparity of 24 years.

The court delivered conditional custodial sentences of up to eight months to the convicted individuals. The complete verdict has still to be made public.

This latest legal outcome in France coincides with the Macrons initiating a defamation lawsuit in the United States against political commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted analogous false narratives about the French president's wife's biological sex.

Their complaint alleges that Owens ignored any factual proof contradicting her allegations choosing instead to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.

Owens has regularly repeated these assertions on her digital program and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her conviction that Mrs. Macron was born a man.

Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her now-husband when she taught at his high school.

The couple entered into matrimony in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
